Miss Carival 2012 This year, the First Citizens Group Miss Carival Beauty Pageant carries the theme, ‘Miss Carival 2012 – 27 years of exquisite pageantry – 1985-2012’ and will be held on Friday July 6th, 2012 at Carnival City Victoria Park.Chairperson of the Beauty Shows Committee of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), Cheryl Rodriguez said that as usual, the winner of the Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines Pageant will represent this country at the Miss Carival Show. The countries showing interest so far in this year’s pageant are Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela. St. Kitts & Nevis who won the crown last year through Lantavian Queeley will defend its crown. Rodriguez said that countries invited include, Grenada, Guyana, St Lucia and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). This country will be represented by the winner of Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines 2012 Beauty Pageant. Nine countries will join St Vincent and the Grenadines to make a total of 10 contestants. Vying for a chance to represent SVG at Miss Carival this year are Miss Super Six Jolene Bentick from Sandy Bay, Miss Lotto Shanique Browne from Enhams/Glamorgan, Miss Mustique Company Limited Terranza Franklyn from Golden Grove, Chateaubelair, Miss Lime Carice Glasgow from Glen, Miss Agricultural Input Warehouse Kendra Homer from Walvaroo, Miss St Vincent Brewery Limited Jovonne John from Lower Questelles, Miss Metrocint General Insurance Company Limited Dieta Tucker from Redemption Sharpes and Miss Jergens Aziza Williams from Upper Cane Hall. The First Citizens Group Miss Carival Beauty Pageant has as some of its objectives, fostering greater linkages and bonds between the many islands, encouraging contestants, chaperones and persons attending the pageant to return to SVG and to showcase the beauty and diversity of Caribbean young women.
