Fashion Caribbean

This year’s production of Fashion Caribbean came off at the Emerald Valley Casino last Saturday, 14th August.  The show boasted a host of overseas designers with much regional acclaim.

Designers

Among the featured designers were Trinidad and Tobago designers like: Ecliffe Elie of ‘ecliff elie Designs’, Shaun Griffith Perez of ‘Raang Designs’, Zadd and Eastman with their ‘Zadd and Eastman’ label, Coline Mills of “Millhouse’ and Ashley Christmas of ‘Earth Member for Life’.

Coming out of Guyana was Michelle Cole of ‘Colefacts’ while Pat Blackman came from Barbados. Also presenting were ‘Cadge Designs, Brenda Mc Intosh-Iroha, Rowland ‘Scrapie’ Dopwell and Kimon Baptiste.

These designers were complemented by an exhibition of pieces from young and up-coming designers here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who represented themselves quite well.

Included among these were Ingrid John, Jeremy Payne, Monifa Walker,  Kevorn Bacchus, Deon Paul, Shernicia Mayers, Sophelia Blucher and Jinelle Charles.

Highlight

One highlight of the show came during the presentation by Coline Mills of ‘Colefacts’.  Mills used spot-on choreography to the song, ‘Roxanne’ in a very successful attempt to woo her audience.  It did the trick!

The show which began with the drawback of a soggy ground on which the majority of seats were laid out and a fifty-minute late start, ended with a segment of entertainment from local performing artistes.
