Performing Artistes at Bequia Music Fest
It’s just two weeks to go before the 7th Bequia Mount Gay Music Fest kicks off its music-filled four-day weekend!Opening honours go to the Frangipani Hotel, where the fabulous 13-piece Elite Steel Orchestra from St. Vincent will perform on Thursday 28th January from 9pm.

On Friday 29th, the Bequia Mount Gay Music Fest once again welcomes Dana Gillespie and the London Blues Band and her guest artistes for another thrilling night’s entertainment dedicated to the Blues at their very best, in a perfect setting by the beach at de Reef, in Lower Bay. A big “Thank You” to Basil Charles for bringing the Mustique Blues Festival to Bequia for the seventh year running!


On Saturday 30th from 1pm, the Bequia Beach Hotel in Friendship will be the venue for a free afternoon of hot and cool Jazz and Blues by the beach with Vincentian Syl McIntosh and Band, award-winning US Blues pianist David Maxwell, Stan & Cora from Europe (piano & sax), New York trumpeter Jim Coleman, American guitarist “Wry Worry”, Louis O’Neil (piano) and Jan Smith on sax. The afternoon’s highlight will be a thrilling line-up of three great keyboarders on stage – if you love Blues piano, you’ll love this!

Saturday night is the second big night of the Music Fest at De Reef with TRN Band from Jamaica with guests Amanda Gooding and Kyron Baptiste, Bequia’s own world-famous recording artiste Papa Winnie, legendary Bajan blues guitarist Toby Armstrong, The Mount Gay Blues Band and introducing for the first time in Bequia,  the hottest new band from Barbados - NEXCYX, performing their signature show-stopping blend of Rock, Hip Hop and Pop.

They just released their first CD “Gossip Girl” to huge acclaim - miss them and blame yourself!
Sunday will be a day to chill out at De Reef in Lower Bay to the sounds of Jazz, Country & Western from Bequia’s Country Relatives, blues and rock by the Bequia Blues Band and much, MUCH more at the Mount Gay party till the sun goes down…

De Reef in Lower Bay will once again be transformed into a unique entertainment complex, complete with live outdoor big screen video projection, covered al fresco dining and seating, and a newly rebuilt and extended stage area. Special Music Fest dinners at De Reef on Friday and Saturday nights let you choose to watch the action live on the big screen from the comfort of your dining table or move inside De Reef to get up close with the musicians and dance the night away!

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday events at De Reef are on sale at Quik Print and The Bounty in St. Vincent, and at the Bequia Tourism Office, Lina’s Delicatessen, De Reef, Bequia Beach Hotel and the Frangipani Hotel in Bequia. There  is no  charge for admission to the Frangipani on Thursday and Jazz ‘n ‘Blues by the Beach on Saturday afternoon at the Bequia Beach Hotel beachfront bar.
