North_American_fam_tripThe St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) hosted six North American journalists on a group press trip that ran from 18-25 October, 2013. The group’s itinerary was split between St Vincent and the Grenadine islands of Bequia and Petit St Vincent (PSV).  They were given a tour of the major tourism sites as well as a brief tour of the Argyle International Airport construction site. Some members of the group even took the time to enjoy a Friday evening lime at Heritage Square. The five (5) journalists who participated in this press trip were: Jessica Padykula, Gary Lawrence and Gillian Wilson of Canada along with Alex Britell and David Apell of the USA.  They were accompanied by Leslie Knobloch, a representative of Spring O’Brien, the Public Relations company that represents the SVGTA in North America.

SVG_Booth2The United States Sailboat Show took place in the historic naval community of Annapolis, Maryland. St. Vincent and Grenadines Tourism Authority along with TMM Yacht Charters sponsored a booth in Vacation Basin this year. This show is the oldest and largest in-water boat show in the United States where sailors and dreamers come to explore everything about sailing. Water logged show-goers were happy to enter the palm-lined SVG booth where a large flat screen TV tempted them with slide after slide of white sandy beaches, azure blue water and tropical paradise!  St.Vincent & the Grenadines’ participation at this year’s show was coordinated by the SVGTA’s office in NY, while John and  Daniela West from TMM Yacht Charters, Chris Rundlett and Chrystal Young from LTD Sailing were on hand, at the show, to invite everyone to visit the Caribbean they have been looking for! Information on vacation planning, accommodations, yacht charters and Learn & Cruise sailing vacations was available for all participants to take home in their stunning SVG goodie bag! Visitors to the booth were also excited to hear about the opening of the new airport in Fall 2014 - making it so much easier to set sail on the finest waters anywhere.  As the sun finally came out on the last few days, we are sure that among the 50,000+ attendees, many will come to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to start living their dream!
