 STANDARDS FOR TOURIST ACCOMMODATION

Properties which were pre-registered to be a part of process to implement Standards for Tourist Accommodation were pre-assessed by the Tourism Audit Team during the months of September and October.  The Team comprised representatives from the Fire Department, Environmental Health Department, Physical Planning Unit, SVG Hotel and Tourism Association, and SVG Tourism Authority.

world_standards_dayThese assessments coincided with World Standards Day which was celebrated on October 14th 2011, under the theme ‘International Standards - Creating Confidence Globally.’ A total of twenty (20) properties were inspected on St. Vincent while twenty-five (25) properties were inspected on the Grenadines islands of Bequia, Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island.

An appeal is being made to properties that have not yet registered to do so. The inspection process will enable the Tourism Audit Team to visit a property and identify areas that may need improvement to meet the required standards, as well as to prepare properties for next year's actual inspection process.

Persons wishing to register their properties may contact the St Vincent & the Grenadines Tourism Authority’s Quality Assurance Manager, at the following:
