ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES TOURISM AUTHORITY
E-NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2010

ISSUE #1

MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Faylene_Findlay_Scrubb_lo_resThe St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) is the national agency entrusted with the responsibility of promoting the country as a tourist destination, developing standards and regulating the quality of the local tourism service providers. The SVGTA is also required by law under the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority Act 2007 to assist in the development of the varied tourism products on offer.

The Authority became operational on January 2nd 2009 and was officially launched on July 2nd 2009. Over the last two years, the work of the Authority has had very little publicity due primarily to the absence of a designated public relations unit. Nonetheless, significant strides are being made locally and overseas by the staff and agencies employed to execute the mandate.

The intention of the SVGTA is to use the E-Newsletter to not only update the various stakeholders who interface directly and indirectly with the Authority, but ultimately it is hoped that the E-Newsletter will seek to dispel any misconceptions about the work of the SVGTA.

This E-Newsletter will be published monthly and will report on the current month as well as highlight any activities/events in the upcoming month. Your feedback is welcomed; please send any comments/queries or suggestions to svgta@discoversvg.com

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Executive of the SVGTA, I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your support  over the last two years and look forward to even greater collaboration in the future as we seek to further develop this vital sector.

Faylene Findlay-Scrubb
Chief Operating Officer
